Weddings: Nov. 15, 2009

Rider-Spalla

Christine Ann Rider and David Christopher Spalla celebrated their marriage on Saturday, May 30, 2009, on the campus of Indiana University at Bloomington. A civil ceremony took place Dec. 7, 2008, in the Eagle’s Nest Lounge at Indianapolis.

The Honorable Gary V. Rider, father of the bride, officiated.

Music was provided by Ken Rider, uncle of the bride, and Rondrell Moore, who also read Scripture.

The bride is the daughter of Cindy Rider and Gary and Mary Rider of Terre Haute. She is a 2004 graduate of Terre Haute North Vigo High School and a 2008 graduate of Indiana University with a degree in sociology. She is employed by Jouvence Aveda salon in Washington, D.C.

The bridegroom is the son of Carin and Greg Spalla of Seymour. He is a 2003 graduate of Seymour High School and a 2008 graduate of Indiana State University with a degree in physics. He is a patent examiner in the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office at Alexandria, Va.

The bride was given in marriage by her brother.

Holly Holobyn was honor attendant. Leigh Ann Hoy, Lauren Ayres, and Alison Rider, niece of the bride, were bridesmaids. Caitlin Rider, the bride’s niece, was junior bridesmaid.

Karsen Rider, the bride’s niece, was flower girl.

Michael Howell was best man. Spc. Tony Nogue (in absentia), Adam Rudicel, Paul Spalla, brother of the bridegroom, and Brian Rider, brother of the bride, were groomsmen.

“Tuxedo,” bridesmaid Lauren Ayres’ black labrador retriever, was ring bearer.

A reception followed in the Frangipani Room in the Indiana Memorial Union. The couple now reside outside Washington, D.C.

Tenerelli-Speer

Emily Jo Tenerelli and Joshua Robert Speer, both of Terre Haute, were united in marriage on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009.

The Rev. Kelly Love officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Joseph and Susan Tenerelli of Terre Haute. She is a 2004 graduate of Indiana State University with a bachelor’s degree in communication studies. She is assistant director of Campus Admission at St. Mary-of-the-Woods College.

Speer is the son of Jo Speer of Terre Haute and Bob Speer of Worthington. He is a 2007 graduate of Purdue University with a master’s degree in technology. He is an engineering and electronics teacher at Terre Haute South Vigo High School.

Katherine Tenerelli was honor attendant. Jennifer Haller, Joe Anderson and Eric McGregor were the bride’s attendants.

Marquis Songer was best man. Glenn Andrew, Brett Andrew and Bob Farmer were the groomsmen.

Abigail Haller was flower girl. Daniel Haller was ring bearer.

A private reception followed in Idle Creek Banquet Center.

The couple took a wedding trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico.
