Wedding announcements: Jan. 13, 2013

TERRE HAUTE — DeLong-Etling

Melissa Margaret DeLong and Jay Miller Etling, both of Terre Haute, were united in the sacrament of holy matrimony on July 28, 2012, in the Church of the Immaculate Conception at St. Mary-of-the-Woods.

The bride is the daughter of Peggy DeLong of Terre Haute and the late Mark DeLong.

The bridegroom is the son of John and Patricia Etling of Terre Haute.

Father Rick Ginther officiated. Becki Doti, cantor, and Leslie Thayer, organist, provided music. Tommy DeVine, nephew of the bridegroom, and Meaghan and Gretchen Anne Etling, nieces of the bridegroom, were servers.

The bride was given in marriage by her brothers, Ryan and Jerod DeLong.

The matron of honor was Melissa McHolland, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Ayshah Matthews and Ashley Ellsworth, friends of the bride, and Sarah F. and Sarah J. DeLong, sisters-in-law of the bride.

The best man was Joe Etling, brother of the bridegroom. Groomsmen were James Etling, brother of the bridegroom, and Joey and Danny Etling, nephews of the bridegroom.

Vivian Etling, niece of the bridegroom, was the flower girl. Mason DeLong, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer.

Liturgical readings were read by Mary Kate Etling and Cami Beddow, nieces of the bridegroom. The Prayer of the Faithful was read by Allison Beddow, niece of the bridegroom. Gift bearers were Paje Felts and Patty Beddow, sisters of the bridegroom. Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion were Polly Harshberger and Pam DeVine, sisters of the bridegroom.

A dinner and dance reception followed in O’Shaughnessy Hall at St. Mary-of-the-Woods.

The couple took a wedding trip to the Riviera Maya, Mexico, and now reside in Terre Haute.



Gallegos-Poe

Peggy Sue Gallegos and Jamie Earl Poe were united in marriage at 2:30 p.m. Jan 1, 2013, in Faithful Hearts Chapel at Terre Haute.

Peggy is the daughter of Rita Kay Boswell of Terre Haute and Paul McConnel of Reno, Nev. She earned a GED and is a homemaker.

Jamie is the son of Glenda Grant of Terre Haute and Albert Poe of Burbank, Calif. He earned a GED and is self-employed.



Thompson-Holbrook

Lindsey Jo Thompson of Indianapolis and formerly of Terre Haute, and Bret Joseph Holbrook of Indianapolis, formerly of Weems, Va., were united in marriage at 4:30 p.m. July 28, 2012, in Terre Haute First Baptist Church.

The Revs. Charles Newman and Bernie Jackson officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Thomas and Jo Ellen Thompson, formerly of Terre Haute. She is a 2009 graduate of Indiana State University and a productions coordinator at United States High Intensity Focused Ultrasound in Indianapolis.

The bridegroom is the son of Gary and Jody Holbrook of Weems. He is a mechanical engineer at Stanley Security Solutions in Indianapolis, working on a master of business administration from Kelley School of Business through Indiana University.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.

Tess Lemish, cousin of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Crystal Dougherty, Shannon Justice, Ashley Lee, Katie Tabor, Megan Cates, Kirsten Morrison, Abby Thompson and Tara Grove.

Ryan Holbrook, brother of the groom, was best man. Groomesmen were Brad Munchel, Kurt Hampton, Clint Hammes, David Hudnall, Daniel Armstrong, Bob Warden, Mike O’Shaughnessy and Justin Crotzer.

Robert Marchibroda Jr. and Jennifer Marchibroda were guest book attendants.

Teagan Tingley was the flower girl. Landon Justice and Reed Dougherty were ringbearers.

Justin Thompson, brother of the bride, and Jared Dougherty, cousin of the bride, were ushers.

A reception followed at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
