Mr. and Mrs. Donald W. Lifford

Mr. and Mrs. Donald W. Lifford of Jasonville will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Friday, Nov. 18, 2011.

The Liffords were married Nov. 18, 1961, in Jasonville First Baptist Church by the Rev. Ray Kitts.

Mrs. Lifford, the former Maxine Fulk, is retired from Crane Naval Surface Warfare Center. Lifford is retired from Sony/DADC in Terre Haute.

Mr. and Mrs. Phil Porter

Mr. and Mrs. Phil Porter of Terre Haute will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a trip to Branson, Mo. A cruise during the Christmas holiday also is planned.

The Porters were married Nov. 7, 1961, in Newport. Mrs. Porter, the former Linda Norman, retired in January 1995 as a hairstylist. Porter retired in January 1995 and worked in insurance.

The couple have three children, Keith Porter of Terre Haute, Brian Porter of St. Pete Beach, Fla., and Darin Porter of Lafayette. They also have four grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Gerald M. White

Mr. and Mrs. Gerald M. White of Brazil will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, 2011, in the Staunton Community Center.

Friends and relatives are invited. It is requested that gifts be omitted but cards are welcome and may be sent 1447 W. County Road 800 North, Brazil IN 47834. 

The couple were married Nov. 3, 1951, in Brazil, by the Rev. A.L. Emmert.

Mrs. White, the former Judith Booth, is a homemaker. White is a retired member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union, Local 157.

Hosts will be the couple’s four children, Norma Dellmo and husband Russ, Debbie Know and husband Randy, Terry Sanders and husband Greg, and the late Jerry White Jr. They also have 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Glen Norton

Mr. and Mrs. Glen  Norton of Martinsville, Ill., will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011.

Cards are welcome and may be sent to 7899 Cumberland Road, Martinsville, IL 62442.

The Nortons were married Nov. 10, 1961, in Joliet, Ill. Mrs. Norton is the former Ellen Williams.

The couple have three children, Larry Norton and wife Cheryl of Martinsville, Ill., Kelly Norton and wife Vickie of Martinsville, and Sue Ellen Francis and husband Cory of Mattoon, Ill. They also have three grandchildren.
