Bird-Batson


Corrie Diane Bird and Trent Theopolis Batson were united in marriage at 4:30 p.m. Saturday May 17, 2008, at The White Chapel on the campus of Rose Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute.

The Rev. Ernie Rush officiated. Gary Jenkins, organist, and Amanda Gorman, vocalist provided music.

The bride is the daughter of Janet and Mike Deakins of Brazil, Tim and Karen Gorman of Brazil, and Larry Bird of Indianapolis. She is a 1995 graduate of Northview High School, a 1999 graduate of Indiana State University with a degree in elementary education and a May 2007 graduate of Ivy Tech Community College with an associate’s degree in business administration. She is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Indiana State University.

Batson is the son of the late DeSheer Harris of Terre Haute. He is a 1991 graduate of Terre Haute South High School and Indiana Business College with an associate’s degree in business administration. He is currently pursuing an associate’s degree in criminal justice from Ivy Tech Community College and is employed by Rose Hulman Institute of Technology as a public safety officer.

Amanda Gorman was honor attendant. Kelie Gorman was a bridesmaid.

Eric Gresham was best man. Stacey Slaughter was a groomsman.

Winston Killu and RJ Wood were ushers.

Santana Batson was ring bearer. Christian Batson was flower girl.

Lyric Gorman was guestbook attendant.

A reception followed at the Main Dining Room at Rose Hulman Institute of Technology with Simple to Elegant providing the décor.

KT Cakes provided the wedding cake.

Photography was taken by The Roxy Studio.

Showtime Music provided music at the reception.

The couple took a honeymoon to Maui, Hawaii and now reside in Brazil.



Garrett-Cassidy


Jane Ann Garrett and Brian Karol Cassidy were united in marriage at 3 p.m. Saturday May 31, 2008 in United Pentecostal Church of Highland Village in Bloomington, Ind.

Pastor Benjamin King officiated. Music was provided by bass player, Randy Cassidy and the bridegroom who was a vocalist.

The bride is the daughter of Patricia Joan Garrett of West Terre Haute and the late Arthur Paul Garrett. She is a graduate of North Vigo High School and is employed by Mosaic.

Cassidy is the son of Carolyn Sue Cassidy of Bloomington and the late Walter Burt Cassidy. He attended Bloomington South High School and is employed by Boyd’s Brothers Trucking.

The bride was given in marriage by Bill Joseph.

Betty Jeffers was honor attendant. Shelly Steadman and Jean Ridge were bridesmaids.

Randy Cassidy, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. Doyle Newsquistand Gary Cassidy were groomsmen.

Jameson and Katie Cassidy were ushers. Hannah Shaffer was flower girl. Geneva Brune was guest book attendant.

Rose McClain provided the flower arrangements.

A rehearsal dinner was hosted by Doyle and Ann Newquist in their home.

A cake reception followed the ceremony. Jean Ridge and Diane Dowell assisted. Another reception followed later that evening at Voiture 40/8 in Terre Haute. Jennifer and Tony Noel prepared the food.

Dot provided music and karaoke.

The honor attendant hosted a bridal shower in her residence.

The couple took a wedding trip to Waikiki Beach, Oahu Hawaii. They now reside in Terre Haute.
