GRAPE SENSE: Chablis is Chardonnay, but not all Chardonnay is Chablis
That white wine in a jug from California, labeled Chablis, is anything but Chablis.
Chablis has long suffered from bad white wines from regions outside Burgundy calling their Chardonnay the French classic. Arguably, Chablis is the world’s greatest white wine. Chablis is Chardonnay, but not all Chardonnay is Chablis. -
TRIED ‘N’ TRUE: Tasty tuna recipe that’s healthy, too
When my cousin, Dee, and I went to Weight Watchers, we exchanged recipes. Everyone has enjoyed this. It makes enough for four people. For Weight Watchers it is 5 points. Now don’t turn your nose up because it is a diet food. Try this. You can cut it in half for a couple of meals. If you like, add enough for a bigger brunch.

YOUR GREEN VALLEY: Others may find your trash to be their treasure
There is a lot to be said about buying gently-used items in place of new ones. The biggest motivating factor is usually money. Another good reason is because a lot of energy and resources have already gone into making something and there is no reason why we should not do our best to prolong its life.

TRIED ‘N’ TRUE: Great time for soup
It’s still not summer, but soup is still good.
Mix everything in a pot (I also sometimes add diced cooked chicken). I don’t remember where I got this — I’ve had it too many years. If you like cheese you’ll love this. I don’t fix as much as I used to. I also use chicken bouillon base instead of cubes any more. Use whatever you and your family like. -

Geocaching Indiana: Clay County man develops idea to use geo-art to create outline of state in caches
Indiana, long-known as the Crossroads of America, has for years been a destination for people coming from around the world to witness such activities as the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race, Indianapolis Colts football games and Indiana University Hoosiers basketball games.
Since October 2012, Indiana’s attractions have come to include the surprising geo-art creation of a group of Wabash Valley geocachers — people who use Global Positioning Systems and similar location-sensitive devices to find hidden objects for fun. -

Tried ‘n’ True: Heath Bar Coffee Cake a treat for breakfast
When we go up north to visit our friends, I try to take something for breakfast. The men usually go out by themselves at noon or maybe we all four go out. But we eat at home for breakfast. Pat Rhoads gave me this recipe in the late 1960s or early 1970s.
