With just three months remaining to rack up master points, Fred Ervin has a 30 point lead over Milt Van Reed. Jim Gormong is in third place just ahead of Tom Roberts. Frank DeSanto is fifth. John Clark leads the rest of the top 20 who are Don Reuland, Henjin Chi, Richard Easton, Don Florida, Floyd McWilliams, George Woodason, Charles Parks, Charles Bryan Sr, Mark Greenwell, Rick Kleinheksel, Jim Jennings, Don Tooloose, Mark Minar and Charles Bryan Jr.
The ladies contest is not so cut and dried. Laura Bright is still in the lead, but Sharon Strassler remains a worthy opponent. Nancy Hanley is in command of third place while Sue May and Tana Holt are battling for the next position. The Terre Haute Sectional Bridge Tournament is on tap for Sept. 10-12. A three day event with the opening salvo Friday evening at 7:30. Saturday sessions start at 9:30 with KO Teams in three sessions, and stratified play for open and 299ers. Sunday Swiss game starts at 10:30 a.m.
