Preschool Family Literacy Nights resume at Marshall Public Library

MARSHALL, ILL. — Monthly Family Literacy Nights are planned for pre-schoolers ages 3, 4 and 5 years with a parent at Marshall Public Library, thanks to funding by Marshall Rotary Club and the Evelyn G. Knowles Foundation.

Family Literacy Nights take place on the third Thursday of each month, at 6:30 p.m. CST in the library. The next program is today. Space is limited; call the library at 217-826-2535.

Each program is a 30-minute session at which the children listen to stories, learn finger plays and songs, do interactive projects with a parent and more.  The parents learn valuable information about effective ways to read to children and provide a reading environment at home. Children receive a free book to take home at each session and an additional book if they complete a monthly reading log.

The library is at 612 Archer Ave. Visit www.marshallillibrary.com.
