Can you believe another year has come and almost gone? This recipe is one for fun. It is a quick brownie. With New Year’s Eve coming this reminds me of the Grasshoppers, now in a brownie. Also, a Creme De Menthe cake for your New Year’s party. These recipes came from Sally Wallace from Walnut, Ill., and Karen Cole from Frankfort, Ill. Thanks girls.
n Mix a brownie mix per package instructions. Add chopped candies and some chopped Oreo cookies. Bake per package instructions.
Creme de Menthe Cake
1 white cake mix
1 (8 oz.) carton Cool Whip
4 tablespoons De Menthe (green)
1 jar Smuckers
chocolate fudge toping
n Prepare white cake mix following the direction on box and adding 2 tablespoons Creme de Menthe. Bake as directed. Let cake cool completely. Cover with chocolate fudge topping. Add 2 tablespoon Creme de Menthe to Cool Whip and spread on top of chocolate. Cover and chill in refrigerator overnight.
