The next generation of bridge stars in the Valley are the 299ers of the Terre Haute Bridge Center. Margie Kintz is the current leader, just ahead of Connie Shattuck. These players had less than 300 master points at the beginning of the year. Show position belongs to strong contender, Mona Sternfeld. Joan Chervenko leads the rest of the top 30 who are Ruth Ann Tooloose, Charles Parks, Rick Kleinheksel, Charles Bryan Sr, Linda Easton, Bill and Nancy Shriner, Don Tooloose, Sharon Mason, Jim Jennings, Dr Jayesh Ramolia, Charles Bryan Jr, Susan McCarthy, Gretchen Weston, Maggie Oyer, Janet Page, Margi Knotts, Bob Logsdon, David and Mary Halsted, Bill Hawk, Arlene Luchsinger, Mark Minar, Marty Cornelius and Clint Baldwin
On the tournament trail; Joanna Hebermehl and Milt Van Reed placed first in section and third overall in open pairs and teamed with Dan Dorney and John Clark were second in a large Swiss Team event at the Evansville Sectional. Our Monday evening Fun Bridge game continues strong due to Laura Bright’s tutorials on bidding and play and Tana Holt and Mary Lunsford’s help in maintaining the fun atmosphere.
