Habitat conducting a silent auction for next home

TERRE HAUTE — Wabash Valley Habitat for Humanity ReStore will be conducting a silent auction from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Jeannie’s Galleria at 5015 U.S. 41. All proceeds will go to support the construction of Habitat’s next new home in Terre Haute. Big Green Egg will be demonstrating food on site. Items will be available for silent bid, or a buy-it-now price will be attached to each item.

Jeannie’s Galleria will be raffling a 65-inch television at 3:30 p.m. Donations for the auction can be picked up by the ReStore staff, or dropped off either at Jeannie’s Galleria or at the ReStore at 1831 Wabash Ave. With the public’s support Habitat can achieve its goal of building another home for a low-income family in need of decent, safe housing. Habitat for Humanity does not give these houses away. When construction is complete, Habitat sells the home to the family with a no-interest loan. Wabash Valley Habitat for Humanity was founded in 1988 and has built 57 homes with low income families in the community.
