TERRE HAUTE —
Most people enjoy a cheeseburger. With this recipe you have a quick casserole. You can buy a box mix, but I like this. You can change it a little: try a package of taco seasoning, add dry ranch dressing (dry). You can do so much. You can double or cut this recipe to the size you need. I like to add mushrooms, celery, onion, etc. It is very easy to change to suit your family.
Cheeseburger Casserole
1 lb. hamburger
1 - 8 oz can tomato sauce
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 - 8 oz can biscuit
1 small onion
1/4 cup catsup
5 slices cheese (your choice) (more if desired)
• Brown hamburger and onion, drained. Stir in tomato sauce, catsup and pepper. Heat until bubbly, grease a 8” square pan. Spread one-half the meat mixture in pan, top with cheese. Cover with remaining meat mixture. Arrange biscuits around edges. Place cheese slices on top.
• Bake 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
