Photos of Valley to be on display at new Union Hospital

TERRE HAUTE — When the Union Hospital expansion opens in January, patients and visitors will be visually treated to beautiful photographs of nature, architecture and landscapes of the Wabash Valley. More than 40 employees and community members submitted more than 100 photographs for possible exhibition in the expansion.

While nearly all of the entries will be displayed, 18 were chosen to compete in an art competition to determine the top three photos. A total of 836 Union Hospital employees voted in the contest.

A photo of a field featuring a red barn taken by Amy Foltz of Clinton came in first place with 344 votes. Foltz also placed third with her black-and-white photo of the interior of a covered bridge, which garnered 246 votes.

A photo of a hazy landscape taken by Tiffany Pharo of Terre Haute placed second with 274 votes.

These three photos will be enlarged and specially framed for display in Union Hospital East. More than 100 other photos from the contest will be framed and displayed as well.
