TERRE HAUTE — The annual “Take Back the Night” event is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday at Indiana State University’s Dede Plaza. This year’s theme is “There’s No Excuse for Abuse.”
The rally and march will focus on domestic abuse and violence against women. The rally will include information, motivational speakers and a community pledge. Participants will then be invited to march around campus and the nearby community as a demonstration against domestic violence.
A donation drive also is ongoing as a part of the “Wipe Out Violence” campaign to support the Council on Domestic Abuse, which provides counseling and shelter for women and children who are domestic abuse victims.
Donations of paper towels, toilet paper, new washcloths and bath towels are sought. Donations also may be brought to the rally.
