PARIS, IL — Kidd Kraddick, host of the nationally syndicated radio show “Kidd Kraddick in the Morning,” raised more than $400,000 in funds to send 60 terminally/chronically ill or physically challenged children and their families to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla., including Katie Wilken of Paris.
On Oct. 1, the entire day of programming on 104.3 The Party WCBH-FM was dedicated to Kidd’s Kids. The listening audience heard directly from children who have previously experienced this trip.
When Katie was an infant, she was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and a few years later Scoliosis, which has caused her to wear braces on her legs and take three different medications every day.
Katie and her parents, Peter and Donna Wilken, were selected to go to Walt Disney World from Nov. 5 to 9.
During this trip – which takes place every November – the kids and their families enjoy all the excitement that a Walt Disney World getaway can offer. For many families with terminally/chronically ill or physically challenged children, this is a rare opportunity to get outside of hospital and treatment centers and share laughter and fun in a magical environment. Kidd’s Kids covers all expenses related to the trip. Children selected for the Kidd’s Kids trip are between the ages of 5 and 12 and also must reside in the “Kidd Kraddick in the Morning” radio listening area and demonstrate a financial need.
