Knightsville woman celebrates birthday
Helen M. Reed Latham, of Knightsville, recently celebrated her 90th birthday with family and friends in Forest Park Baptist Church at Terre Haute, hosted by her daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Danny Thomas of Knightsville.
Helen was born Sept. 26, 1919, in Dayton, Ohio, to Otis and Pearl Reed. She married Wayne Latham. She and her husband owned and operated New Tomorrow Health Food Store in Brazil for many years. Her husband preceded her in death.
She has two daughters, four grandchildren, and one great-grandson.

Terre Haute once built 'finest minor league baseball park'
Only a select few saw Memorial Stadium from Ernie Woods’ vantage. Under the summer sun, he roamed the outfield for the Terre Haute Phillies in 1950. The ballpark turned 25 years old that season.

Milissa Strickland Fowler of Cheyenne, Wyo., daughter of Bob and Mary Strickland, formerly from Clinton, was promoted to Chief Master Sergeant in the Wyoming Air National Guard on Jan. 21.
