Edgar Master Gardeners planning ‘April in Paris’

PARIS, IL — The Edgar County Master Gardeners are again sponsoring their annual garden seminar, “April in Paris,” on April 11 at the Cornerstone Baptist Church, 15197 U.S. 150, in Paris Ill.

The keynote speaker will be Deborah Lee, herbal educator and practitioner, presenting “Growing and Using Culinary Herbs.” Other speakers include:

• Charles Voigt, extension specialist on vegetable crops, speaking on “Tips for Vegetable Gardeners,”

• Marilyn Miller from the Apple House, presenting “New Varieties and Old Favorites,” and

• Dyke Barkley of Barkley Farms Nurseries in Paris, presenting “Natives in Modern Landscaping.”

The day will also include morning refreshments, lunch, door prizes and vendors selling a variety of horticulture and landscape items.

Cost is $25 and will begin with registration at 8:30 a.m. followed by the first presentation at 9 a.m.

Master Gardeners who attend will be eligible for four hours of continuing education credit.
