Correctional facility to participate in Big Read

ROCKVILLE — The Rockville Correctional Facility will once again participate in The Big Read in conjunction with the Rockville Public Library, the Vigo County Public Library and Rockville High School. The Big Read, provided through the National Endowment for the Arts, is designed to revitalize interest in leisure reading in local communities.

The selection for the Wabash Valley for the 2013 Big Read is “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer” by Mark Twain. This classic American novel introduces the reader to two of the most beloved characters in literary history: Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn.

The books provided for this program are free to the public and available at the Rockville Public Library, while supplies last.

A book discussion led by Lisa Summers, a GED teacher at the Rockville Correctional Facility, will be held at 6:30 p.m. on March 12, at Rockville Public Library.
