Genealogy Society to present ‘Hidden Genealogical Treasures’

TERRE HAUTE — The Wabash Valley Genealogy Society will be offering a presentation titled “Hidden Genealogical Treasures” on Monday. The program will be presented by Jim Gilson in Rooms A, B and C on the lower level of the Vigo County Public Library. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. and the program will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Gilson’s program will focus on some well-known and several lesser-known resources in the Archives and Special Collections section of the Vigo County Public Library.

Gilson will describe and discuss online and paper resources that are most pertinent to genealogical research.

Gilson holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in history from Butler University; a master’s degree in history from George Washington University; and a library science degree from Indiana University. Gilson has been the archivist and digitization librarian at the Vigo County Library since 2001.
