TERRE HAUTE — The Terre Haute Bridge Center has been fortunate to have fine bridge teachers over the past several years. Laura Bright helped with the lessons on Monday evening for a couple years until she decided to take a break from the bridge club for the summer.

Jim Gormong kindly volunteered to give a short lesson before play on Monday evening at 6.

Gormong, with his wife Jane, returned from their winter home on Padre Island, Texas, about a month ago.

They did their usual routine coming back home, hitting bridge tournaments where they could, and did quite well.

The Spring National Bridge Tournament was so close, they decided to spend the weekend playing there. They had a section top and fifth overall in a 96 table single session event. They placed first and fourth in their sections to win the two session event overall, worth twenty gold master points.
