WEST TERRE HAUTE — The No Bullies Club is sponsoring a T-shirt sale, with the proceeds going to the West Vigo Community Center in West Terre Haute. The T-shirts are printed with the school respect motto — Learn it, Earn it, Know it, Show it – and will be on sale for $7 until Friday. In addition to this sale, the NBC sponsored a candy cane sale with the proceeds going to the Community Center.
Preschool children who will be attending kindergarten at West Vigo Elementary are invited to attend the Big Buddy-Little Buddy Program. This is a free literacy program that Title 1 offers in cooperation with students majoring in education at St. Mary-of-the-Woods College. Little Buddies (the preschool students) will meet once a week with a Big Buddy (a West Vigo Elementary student) to do an activity with a focus on early literacy skills. The students from SMWC develop and lead the activities with the Big Buddies and Little Buddies. Big Buddy-Little Buddy is offered for a total of six weeks in March and April.
