Arts Illiana offers free workshop on grant writing

TERRE HAUTE — Arts Illiana will offer the following technical assistance workshop to regional arts organizations and arts providers.

The free workshop, Crafting Your Grant Narrative, is scheduled 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Nov. 14 in Arts Illiana at 23 N. Sixth St.

Presenter Lucinda Berry is an instructor of English at Eastern Illinois University, writer, and past review panelist for the Regional Initiative Grant Program.

Berry will discuss writing informative and concise grant narratives. She will provide advice on how to tell your organization's story clearly and avoid repetition and overstating. Workshop participants will have the opportunity to have their narrative writing critiqued, and to practice editing what they've written. While the workshop will focus on the IAC Regional Initiative Grant Application narrative, the material covered will have broad application to other arts and non-arts grant writing.

Participants should bring a draft narrative, if possible. It can be a current draft or one that their organization has written in the past. They can also bring other examples of written work that promotes their organization, if desired.

Call Arts Illiana at 812-235-5007 or email sherri@artsilliana.org to register.
