Library sets up Jingle Books Tree

TERRE HAUTE — The Vigo County Public Library has kicked off its holiday Buy-a-Book campaign with the Jingle Books tree.

A six-foot tree in the lobby holds ornaments with book covers representing what the library would like to own. Buy-a-Book envelopes are attached. Patrons may select a book/ornament and an envelope and drop it off with a check at the Reference or Community Service departments.

The names of those who buy a book will be inscribed on the bookplate inside. The Jingle Books selection would work as an honorary gift or for a book purchased in memory of someone.

The Reference Department and the Young People’s Department librarians submitted a wish list of titles for the tree. The titles were printed as book covers, and Indiana State University students helped assemble the tree.

The library also has a traveling Jingle Books tree that is available for use outside the building. Call 812-232-1113 ext. 2303 to make arrangements. Donations made to Buy-a-Book are tax deductible.
