Audubon Society’s annual meeting is Wednesday

TERRE HAUTE — The Wabash Valley Audubon Society’s annual meeting and banquet will be Wednesday at The Saratoga Restaurant, 431 Wabash Ave., in Terre Haute.

The featured speaker will be Tim Maloney, senior policy director for the Hoosier Environmental Council. Maloney leads the group’s programs on forestry, land use and public transit.

He also is the council’s principal presence at the Indiana legislature and has served as the council’s executive director and previously as its Natural Heritage director.

Maloney has also been chair of the Hoosier Chapter of the Sierra Club and a field organizer for the Sierra Club and National Clean Air Coalition. Among his extensive volunteer activities, Maloney has served on the Citizens Advisory Committee for the Indiana Department of Environmental Management.

Maloney’s presentation will concern environmental issues that HEC is currently working on.

A cash bar social hour starts at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at 6:30 p.m. There will be a raffle items and nonmembers are welcome to attend. Reservations are $25 per person. Contact Helen Vermillion at (812)235-2901 by Monday.
