TERRE HAUTE — Most of our players have under 1,000 master points. Top player of this group this year is Tom Roberts, but his lead over Don Reuland is a scant 0.06. Last year’s winner was Nancy Hanley and she is just 0.28 behind Roberts. Fourth placer is a strong contender, Tana Holt. This race will go down to the wire. Phyllis Peters leads the rest of the top 30 who are Joan Chervenko, Charles Parks, Mona Sternfeld, Sharon Winters, George Woodason, Rick Kleinheksel, Diane Scott, Carolyn Steinbaugh, Floyd McWilliams, Gloria Trader, Margie KIntz, Connie Shattuck, Mary Lunsford, Charles Bryan Jr, Jim Jennings, Sharon Mason, Margi Knotts, Noreen Bryant, Henjin Chi, Janet Page, Bob Logsdon, Susan McCarthy, Arlene Luchsinger, Ruth Ann Tooloose and Charles Bryan Sr.

Reports are in from several of our local players results at the Indianapolis Regional held last week. Diane Scott ‘s team of four, Phyllis Peters, Rick Kleinheksel and Mark Greenwell placed second in a compact knockout event. Each of them were awarded over two gold master points for their fine play. Sharon Strassler and Laura Bright placed second and third in two sessions on Wednesday, and in a later team of four event they were among the top winners.

There are many local bridge players who have yet to experience the socialness the game affords when you have your own special place to play your favorite game. There are never any dues, or assessments, the only time you pay is when you decide to play. Then it is just $6, sometimes a dollar more if it is a special game. Play your first time free time. Bring your favorite partner or call us at (812)232-1230 and we will get you one. If you have been away from the game and need a brush up come to our Monday evening Fun Bridge session. Laura Bright will give you tips on bidding and play.
