PREP ROUNDUP: McDonald, Hess lead Northview over Mooresville in volleyball

BRAZIL, Ind. — Madison McDonald and Taylor Hess combined for 18 assists and Shelbi Morris and McKenzi Kumpf had seven kills each as the Knights opened their season decisively with a 3-0 victory over visiting Mooresville in high school volleyball Monday night.

After a close first game, the Knights held their visitors to nine points in each of the last two.

Highlights — For Northview, Madison McDonald had 10 assists, 3 kills and 2 digs; Taylor Hess 8 assists and 7 aces; Shelbi Morris 7 kills and 4 aces; McKenzi Kumpf 7 kills, an assist and a dig; Brylie Riddell 5 kills, 2 blocks and an ace; Audrey Clark 3 digs; Morgan Stearley 2 kills and an assist; Mikayla Rowan 2 blocks; Hannah Willocks 2 digs; and Alexus Bex a dig and an assist.

JV — Northview won 25-19, 23-25, 15-9.

Next — Northview (1-0) hosts Greencastle today.
