TERRE HAUTE —
Chris Cassell claimed his second Terre Haute Savings Bank Mini City championship on Sunday, besting Ryan Roscoe by two shots.
Cassell had a two-shot lead over Roscoe going into the final round played at Hulman Links and both players shot 72 in the final 18 holes of the Terre Haute Golf Association event.
Roscoe shot 32 on the front and had a three-shot lead going onto the No. 9 hole. Cassell birdied two of the next three holes to regain the lead.
Roscoe had the lead again after the 12th hole but Cassell moved in front again on No. 13 and did not trail again. The winner was 36-36 for the day and Roscoe went 32-40.
“The wind definitely became a factor the final six holes,” said the champ, who had 10 birdies and an eagle in his 36 holes.
Dusty Jovanovich shot 140 to take third. He had the low score of the day from the blue tees, going 33-38 for 71.
Donnie Aldrich shot 141 for fourth while Chad Gann and Ted Kaperak tied for fifth with 143 scores.
Brian Silvers and Nate Baugh both finished with 146 scores in the flight and Silvers won the flight, besting Baugh on the second playoff hole.
Shelby Stewart shot 145 to win the second flight and had the low score from the white tees on Sunday with 67. Bob Kyle won the third flight and Bryan Kaufman won the fourth flight.
More than 120 golfers took part in the tournament. The next THGA event will be the senior city in August.
The city junior tournament will be played this week and the Country Club of Terre Haute club championship begins Saturday.

A year ago, the Indianapolis Colts received high marks for the impact players the team added through the NFL draft.
