Simpson was in the bike behind 3-year-old colt trotter Tuff Guy JJ, which overcame an early break to win its sixth race and second of the year. Simpson is the trainer for the colt and also is the trainer for 3-year-old filly trotter Hopeless Kate which Richard Schrock drove to victory. Tiny Offering, driven and trained by Simpson, was third in that race.

Three winners were clocked in sub-two-minute miles. Two of them were in the pace for 3-year-olds and up.

Boi won the second division and had the fastest time of 1 minute, 57.1 seconds. The 4-year-old pacer has won more than $173,000 and has won 14 times in 37 starts including twice this year.

Schrock was in the bike in that race, giving him his first of two wins for the day.

Tinkers Damn, driven and trained by Michael Knicley, won the first heat in 1:59. The nine-year-old mare has won 32 times in 108 starts and won more than $58,000.

Three-year-old colt pacer Anniversary Party won the final race in 1:59.3 for its fourth win of the season. Ronnie Gillespie was the fair driving champion last year and was in the bike behind the winner.

Gillespie also was the driver of NJ’s Super Charger, second to Tinkers Damn in the third race.
