• ISU women lose to Aces — At Arad McCutchan Stadium in Evansville, a goal three minutes and 16 seconds into the match Wednesday evening was all the scoring that took place, as the University of Evansville topped the Indiana State women’s team 1-0 in a Missouri Valley Conference match.
After taking a free kick from the left wing. the Purple Aces crossed the ball into the box, where it fell in the middle of several Aces and Sycamores. Vanessa Legault-Cordisco was able to knock it to Kaitlin Robinett, who knocked it past ISU goalkeeper Emily Lahay.
One thing the Sycamores (8-8-1, 2-3 MVC) had plenty of on Wednesday night was scoring chances, as ISU totaled 10 shots in the first 45 minutes, with four going on goal. UE tallied an equal number of shots (10) and shots on goal (four) in the first half.
The scoring chances continued for the Sycamores in the second half, registering 18 shots with eight on frame. But none of the 12 shots that ISU totaled could find their way to the back of the net, as UE goalie Chaviel Harrison stopped all 12 chances.
The Sycamores have one conference match left this season when it travels to Illinois State on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. EDT. Evansville is now 4-9-1 and 1-3 respectively.
