TERRE HAUTE —
Ted Kaperak had the low round on Saturday in the Show-Me’s Men’s City Tournament and has a two-shot lead going into the final round today at Rea Parks.
Kaperak went 33-37 in shooting a 70 at Hulman Links and has a 7-under-par score of 209 after 54 holes.
The eight-time city champ is two up on Rich Schelsky with 211 and three up on Travis Turpen and Tom Jones, both with 212, while Ryan Roscoe is fifth with 213.
Kaperak had three birdies and one bogey in his round, giving him three bogeys in three rounds.
“It was like old home week today. It was windy and the course played long,” said Kaperak, whose previous championship came in 2010.
Schelsky is the defending champ and took a one-shot lead into the third round. He was 38-38 for 76 on Saturday.
“It was tough today. Wind was a factor and it was soft after the rain. Ted had an awesome round. He deserves to be in the lead,” said Schelsky.
Turpen had the lead after one round and also was 38-38 in shooting 76. “It was difficult . . . I didn’t putt as well today,” he said.
Jones is a seven-time winner and was 4-over after six holes in the third round and shot 74. “I hung in there, playing the last 12 2-under,” he said.
Roscoe also shot 74, the second-low score in the championship flight. He was 36-38.
Scores remained tight in the other flights with one round to go. Scott McVey is the leader in the first flight, one shot better than Ryan Luce and two better than Kurt Madsen.
Chris Keen carded 71 for the second low score of the day and has a two-shot lead over Dave Brown in the second flight.
Jim Winning, Stacey Vitaniemi and Eric Miller share the lead in the third flight and Chuck Adamson has a three-shot lead over Mike Toney in the fourth flight.
Devon Klutey has the lead in the fifth flight, shooting 75 on Saturday that was the low score for about two hours. Nate Morgan is one up on Scott Maliki in the sixth flight.

Colts hoping for more high marks on draft picks
A year ago, the Indianapolis Colts received high marks for the impact players the team added through the NFL draft.
Of the 10 players selected, five ended up either starting or seeing extensive playing time (quarterback Andrew Luck, tight ends Coby Fleener and Dwayne Allen, wide receiver T.Y. Hilton and running back Vick Ballard) during the Colts’ 11-5 season.
While this year’s class may not rival that group in terms of name recognition and flash, it may produce just as many major contributors once the 2013 season gets underway. - Colts in wait-and-see mode for tonight’s NFL draft
