Ted Kaperak leads at Hulman Links club championship

TERRE HAUTE — Three-time winner Ted Kaperak takes a two-shot lead into the final round of the Hulman Links Championship to be played today.

Kaperak fired a 4-under-par 68 on Saturday, going 33-35, and has a two-shot lead over former winner Chris Cassell with 70.

Ryan Roscoe and Fred Reynolds each carded  72 to tie for third. Reynolds had the low nine-hole score with 32.

Scott McVey, 2011 champ Dave Brown and Mike Wright are next at 73.

Mark Bird and Chuck Payne are tied for first in the White Division, each with 72, and Russ Campbell shot 70 to take a one-shot lead over Larry Tackett in the Senior Division.

  • West Vigo comes up short against 19-9 Brown County softball

    West Vigo got off to a good start but Brown County finished better in Class 3A high school softball sectional semifinal action Tuesday night at Edgewood.
    The Eagles bested the Vikings 7-5 and will meet South Vermillion, a 12-7 winner over Owen Valley, for the sectional championship on Thursday starting at 6 p.m.
