PREP ROUNDUP: North, South paired in volleyball too

Tribune-Star staff report

TERRE HAUTE — The slips of paper holding the names of Terre Haute North and Terre Haute South stayed close together.

A little over 12 hours after the two city rivals drew each other in Class 5A first-round high school football sectional play, they got the same honor on Monday in the upcoming Class 4A volleyball tournament.

The Braves and Patriots play each other at Plainfield on Oct. 18 at approximately 7:30 p.m., following the sectional opener between Northview and defending champion Martinsville. Semifinal and final matches will be played Saturday.

In Class 3A volleyball, West Vigo drew the opening match Oct. 18 at Owen Valley, where the Vikings will play Edgewood (not exactly an unfamiliar sectional foe for the Vikes).
