BRAZIL, Ind. —
Troy Farris and the duo of Gregg Kluesner and Roger Meneely were winners in golf tournaments concluded Sunday in the area.
At Brazil, Farris bested Ezra Evans in a one-hole playoff to win the Brazil Open for the eighth time at Forest Park.
Farris had rounds of 70 and 65 to finish with a 7-under-par 135 score. Evans shot 67 and 68.
Chris Arnold and Logan Burdick tied for second place with 138 scores.
Terre Haute North senior Sam Pollock won the first flight. Michael Moore won the second, Matt Williams the third and Chris Herbert the third.
Mary Beth Tribble placed fourth in the fourth flight with 166, breaking 80 for the first time from the white tees with a 79.
Steve Paquin won the senior division with 138 and Ben Kiburis took super-senior honors with 142.
Northview golfer Dylan Nesty won the boys 16-18 title and Justin Wilson was the 13-15 champ.

They had rounds of 60 and 65 for a 19-under-par 125 score in the two-man best-ball with handicap action.
Chuck Adamson and Mark Malone were second in low total with 127. Two teams tied for third with 130.
Kluesner and Meneely were second in low total with their 60 on the first day. Mike Lacy and Aaron Mundy were low with 59.

• Rex postponed — At Huntingburg, a sudden and unexpected thunderstorm forced postponement of the Terre Haute Rex’s Prospect League game with Dubois County on Sunday.
According to the league website, the game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on July 21. Sunday’s game was the last game of the first half of the season for both teams, however, and would appear to have no significance in the second-half standings.
Auto racing
• Hamilton a winner — At Morris, Ill., Kyle Hamilton dominated U.S. Auto Club midget racing Saturday at the Grundy County Speedway.
Hamilton was fast qualifier and led the final 26 laps to win the 50-lap feature with Bryan Clauson second and Tanner Swanson third.
Darren Hagen led the first 24 laps and finished ninth. He is the leader in the midget point totals going into Friday’s race at Plymouth.
