Casey and Newton high schools were winners in Little Illini Conference boys basketball tournament semifinal action Tuesday.
Newton upset top seed Robinson 63-60 in the first game and Casey bested Flora 51-48. The Eagles and Warriors will meet for the tournament championship Friday.
Robinson and Flora will play for third place at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
Casey and Flora were tied 26-26 at halftime and the Warriors outscored the Wolves 12-8 in the third canto to take a 38-34 lead into the final frame.
The score was tied at 38, 46 and 48 before Brandon Wolfe hit one free throw to put Casey ahead by one point with 46 seconds to play. Wolfe hit two more free tosses to close out the scoring with 31 seconds left in the game.
Zach Murphy had 12 points to lead the host team while Wolfe tallied 11. Matt McCown had nine points and 15 rebounds and Trivette Scales and A.J. McNeil each had eight points for the Warriors.
Bryce Pearce had 15 points for Flora, getting 12 in the first period which ended with Casey ahead by one point.

Next — Casey (13-5) and Newton meet in the championship game Friday. Flora and Robinson vie in the third-place game Thursday.
