Class 2A’s fourth-ranked Sullivan made a statement in girls high school basketball Monday night, going on the road for a 48-23 thumping of North Knox.
The Warriors, a potential sectional opponent for the Golden Arrows, entered the game ranked 13th in the state but were outscored 30-11 after halftime. Rhagen Smith had 14 points and Caelan Jones 13 for the winners, while Lauren Charlton led the Warriors with nine.

• Rox win at South Putnam — At Putnamville, Rockville defeated Eminence 52-30 and then the host team 50-46 on Saturday to win the Eagle Holiday Classic at South Putnam.
Jenifer Lee had 15 points in the first game and 26 in the championship; Alexia Lear had 10 in each game; and Brittany Gordon had nine against Eminence and 14 against South Putnam. All three made the all-tournament team. Morgan Black added 10 points against Eminence for the Rox, 6-10, who played Monday at Cloverdale.
Boys basketball
• LIC tourney slated — Little Illini Conference boys basketball teams begin tournament play Friday at Casey-Westfield. Four games are on Friday’s slate with four more set for Saturday. Play winds up Jan. 25. Robinson is the No. 1 seed. Casey is the No. 2 seed with Flora No. 3 and Newton No. 4.
