West Vigo High School is accepting nominations for induction as a “Distinguished Alumni.”
The Distinguished Alumni award is presented annually to a maximum of three inductees. The nominee must have graduated 20 years prior to being nominated. Nominees must be alumni whose accomplishment(s) have brought distinction to honor the school. The nominee should have attained excellence through professional achievement, public service, artistic expression, scientific discovery/innovation and/or made a significant accomplishment in life.
Nominations and letter of support should be submitted to West Vigo High School, 4590 W. Sarah Myers Drive, West Terre Haute, IN 47885 in care of Distinguished Alumni Selection Committee no later than March 15.
Selected inductees will be recognized at the school’s annual Academic Banquet on May 7 and profiled in the “Viking Jukebox” section of the school library.
Nomination forms may be picked up at the West Vigo High School main office or by visiting the school’s website.

BRUCE’S HISTORY LESSONS: Montgomery Meigs establishes Arlington National Cemetery
This week (June 15) in 1864, Brig. Gen. Montgomery C. Meigs, who had been appointed Quartermaster General of the Union Army in 1861, established Arlington House, the former home of Confederate Gen.
