Students invited to participate in The Eagle Competition

High school students from Vigo County will have an opportunity to participate in The Eagle Competition to test their knowledge of citizenship, taxes, and local and federal government offices for a chance to win cash prizes on April 10.

Any high school student is eligible, but a limit of 30 students from each school can participate. The test, sponsored by the Taxpayers Association of Vigo County Inc., will consist of at least 100 questions with a 55-minute time limit. The test topics include local taxes and services and details about government offices and citizenship.

The prizes are: $300 for the first-place participant, $200 for second, $100 for third, and $400 to the school with the best combined score of the top three students.

For information about study sessions and materials, visit www.taxtopics.org or contact Bernard Ridens 812-299-1797 or the Taxpayers Association of Vigo County Inc. at 812-235-1361.
