Unique to the process technology program, students beginning the program this spring will have the opportunity to complete the degree at the same time as students who began the program in the fall. This class will graduate in May 2011.

Courses also will be offered in the areas of business and accounting, adult basic education and developmental skills, college and career preparatory, communications, composition and literature, computer, corrections, education, foreign language, GED, health and physical education, health occupations, horticulture, humanities, industrial management, mathematics, nursing, office careers, sanitation and safety, physical and life science, process technology, social and behavioral science, telecommunications, and welding.

Spring class schedules are available at www.iecc.edu/ltc. Students must demonstrate college readiness by taking the required college placement test. LTC offers the Compass test, with testing dates posted on the LTC Web site.

To schedule an appointment with an adviser, or to register, call (618) 544-8657.

Many school-age children are using technology to harm, harass or humiliate others. The presentation will focus on the types of cyberbullying with particular emphasis on sexting. It also will address approaches for prevention and intervention for educators.

The presentation is free, but space may be limited. Call the Blumberg Center at (812) 237-2830 or e-mail marlene.lu@indstate.edu to make a reservation or for further information.

Thank a teacher this holiday season

The Vigo County Education Foundation is offering an opportunity for school patrons to thank an outstanding teacher, school employee or coach for a job well done. Parents or students may contribute to the Education Foundation’s “Thank a Teacher” program in recognition of a holiday, a special occasion or a great school year.

In return for their hard work and dedication, the honoree will be awarded a special pin and certificate. Your tax-deductible donation will be used to help fund the grants that are awarded to teachers and schools every year by the foundation.

A tax-deductible contribution to the foundation in the name of a teacher is acknowledged to the honoree and used to help fund the mini-grants that are awarded every spring by the foundation. Contributions may be made all year long.

Forms are available at any school or by contacting Jennifer Thomas at the Vigo County Education Foundation office at (812) 462-4077.
