Riverton Parke Band participates at annual Purdue Band Day

TERRE HAUTE — The Riverton Parke High School Marching Band and Guard, under the direction of Mike Hardesty, took part in the annual Purdue Band Day on the campus of Purdue University on Sept. 15. Thirty-one high school bands with more than 1,700 players performed on a day at Ross-Ade Stadium that saw the host Boilermakers beat Eastern Michigan in non-conference football action.

“We’ve done this for about 15 years,” Hardesty said, “and we think it’s a great experience for our kids.”

In other Music Department news, Panthers’ Music Booster President Alan Moore asks music parents and students to sign up to work for the Sausage Shack during the annual Covered Bridge Festival. Those involved need to contact Anita Moore at 765-569-2372 to sign up.
