The Turkey Run Band and Dance Team were among the 31 high school bands participating in the annual Purdue Band Day Sep. 15 at the West Lafayette campus.
The band members and dance team practiced with the Purdue All-American Marching Band and then performed alongside it during the halftime show. The combined bands performed a rendition of the classic TV theme song from “Gunsmoke.” The show also featured the theme from “Peter Gunn” and a combined arrangement of “America” and “The Battle Hymn of the Republic.” The Turkey Run band also watched the marching band perform at Slayter Center before the game started.
The Turkey Run band is directed by Annette Munoz and the dance team is coached by Leslie Shaffer and Anita Delp.
