Church plans ‘Back to School Kick-off’
The Martinsville Bible Church is hosting a “Back to School Kick-off” at 10 a.m. Aug. 22 for all Clark County students and teachers. The event will include family fun, games, a cookout (full meal) and free school supplies given to every child in attendance. Also, with tight budgets in schools, the church will present every Clark County teacher with their own bag of school supplies.

Garfield class of 1960 plans reunion
Garfield High School class of 1960 will have its 50th reunion the weekend of July 30-Aug. 1.
Members attending may join the all-Vigo County Schools Evening on July 30 at the Holiday Inn. There will be appetizers, music and a cash bar. Participants who have not already paid for both Friday and Saturday events may pay $l5 at the door.
Reunion celebrants will gather for cocktails, dinner and dancing at the Meadows Banquet & Conference Center, 25th & Poplar streets, at 6 p.m. July 31. Reservations are required.
An optional brunch is planned for 11 a.m. Sunday at Rick’s Smokehouse Grill, the former location of Wassels, the popular dance and date gathering place.

Students: Register now for orientation
New or transfer students coming to Wabash Valley College need to be registered for College Orientation. Students who have not registered are urged to call Student Services at (618) 262-8641, ext. 3102 or 3103, for information on attending any of three orientation sessions on Aug. 5, 10 or 17.
The program begins at 8:15 a.m., with sign-in registration beginning at 8 a.m. in the Brubeck Arts Center Theatre.
Orientation will provide students the opportunity to learn more about Success Inside the Classroom, Making Time For It All, Access to Online Services, Student ID Pictures Taken/Used as Library Card, Finding Your Class Locations, More About Financial Aid Resources General Policies and Career Assessment.
A complete campus tour is included, and lunch will be provided on campus.
Students are reminded to bring a picture ID to obtain their WVC student ID, purchase books and make tuition payments, as well as money for textbooks, tuition, fees and meal plans on campus or provide a credit card (Visa/MasterCard) for these services.
If students cannot attend the Orientation class, they must contact the Student Services Office at (618) 262-8641 or toll-free at 1-866-982-4322, ext. 3102 or 3103, as soon as possible. This on-campus portion of orientation is required prior to the beginning of fall classes.

Otter Creek plans All-School Reunion
The Last Otter Creek All-School Reunion will be staged on Aug. 14. It will begin with a morning social at the Otter Creek Men’s Club in North Terre Haute from 10 a.m. to noon. That evening, there will be a dinner at the Holiday Inn. Social time will be at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m.
