The Vigo County Battle of the Books scheduled Friday, April 20, has been moved to Sugar Creek Consolidated Elementary in West Terre Haute. All 18 Vigo County elementary schools will send a team of five members and their alternates to compete in the Battle of the Books. The winning school will receive a traveling trophy to display until the 2013 Battle.
The schedule for the day begins at 9 a.m. with three rounds happening simultaneously — one in the gym, one in the science room and one in the art room. After lunch, the final rounds will take place in the gym/stage area. The Awards Program will begin at 12:30 p.m.
The Education Foundation, Dr. Minnis, the PALS Grant members, several administrators and elementary school media specialists are all a part of this endeavor.
