Ronald McDonald House Charities offers Zumbatomic to Valley students

TERRE HAUTE — The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Indiana continues its efforts to promote an active lifestyle by offering a Zumbatomic program for middle school students.

Certified Zumbatomic instructors will teach students at West Vigo Middle School high-energy choreographed dances featuring the latest hip-hop, reggaeton and cumbia music. This month-long program began Feb. 1.

The Zumbatomic program supports RMHC’s active lifestyles initiative by motivating children to exercise using high-energy dance moves to increase metabolism and improve coordination. This will also build social skills and boost self-esteem in children.

“Zumbatomic is a new program that we are excited about executing this year and we look forward to introducing this program to the students,” said Gerry Stieglitz, RMHC of Central Indiana chapter president. “It is significant for children to exercise daily to maintain an active lifestyle and this program supports and encourages physical activity.”

Ronald McDonald House Charities and McDonald’s of Central Indiana continue to support and execute programs such as All American High School Basketball, Big Ten Boys and Girls Clinics, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s Walk to Cure Diabetes and Radio Disney’s Move It youth fitness program in efforts to encourage people to make wholesome choices and have an active lifestyle.
