Camp Invention returns to ISU next week

TERRE HAUTE — Camp Invention is returning to Indiana State University starting next week.

At the camp, children engage in hands-on science, technology, engineering and mathematics and discover their innate creativity and inventiveness.

The week-long day program for students entering grades one through six is returning to ISU’s Bayh College of Education for the ninth year in a row.

Camp Invention will be under the direction of Tim Moss, a second-grade teacher from Dixie Bee Elementary, and Patricia Wheeler, a professor in ISU’s elementary education department. Both have been involved with the program for the past nine years.

There will be two sessions in July. The Create program will run from Monday through July  13, and the Envision program from July 16 to 20.

The price for one week is $215, and scholarship assistance is available through a $6,000 grant funded by Duke Energy.

To receive a scholarship application or to register for Camp Invention, contact Moss at t81@aol.com or call him at (812) 201-7993.

Those interested can find out more about the program at www.campinvention.org or by calling (800) 968-4332.
