Goals, Pride and Achievement: July 5, 2012

TERRE HAUTE — Wabash Valley residents who graduated on May 20 from Manchester College include:

• Kyle Patrick Fahey of Rockville, cum laude, bachelor of science degree in exercise science, graduate of Rockville Jr.-Sr. High School   

• Chelsie Lynne Stout of Rockville, bachelor of science degree in sport management with a minor in business, graduate of Rockville Jr.-Sr. High School

• Michael Patrick Raines of Terre Haute, bachelor of science degree in English with a concentration in writing with a minor in journalism, graduate of Terre Haute South Vigo High School.

Also:

•Brittany Dorsett, the daughter of Brian and Gina Dorsett of Terre Haute, was in the top 100 students at Butler University for 2011-12, was named Most Outstanding Senior in Marketing and graduated with a 3.94 cum laude with high honors.

Dorsett has recently accepted a position with the ORR Fellowship for her postgraduate endeavors. Starting last September the Fellowship’s recruitment team reviewed more than 1,500 resumes. Then the board of directors interviewed more than 200 candidates from 20 different colleges and universities. After the interview process, 38 candidates were selected to interview for one of the 20 spots in December. After interviewing with seven companies in one day, Dorsett was extended an offer with one of the ORR Fellowship host companies, which she accepted.

• Robert Swaby of Farmersburg, a sophomore majoring in sociology and a graduate of North Central High School was named to the Fall 2011 and Spring 2012 Dean’s List at Manchester College.

To achieve the Dean’s List distinction, students must earn a semester grade point of 3.5 or higher and have completed at least 12 semester hours.
