Turkey Run FFA members attend state convention

MARSHALL, IND. — Turkey Run High School FFA members attended the 83rd Indiana State FFA Convention at Purdue University June 18-20.

They attended sessions and heard inspirational speeches. On the first night, they heard keynote speaker Scott McKain. The members also were able to see Elise Brown, 2006 TR alumna, honored for her five-year anniversary of serving as a state FFA officer.

They worked with other FFA members in participating with the community service project of packing meals for Kids Against Hunger.

Having earned a first place at the district contest, the group competed in the Exhibit category. Their exhibit, which displayed FFA activities that reflected the “I Believe” theme of the convention, earned fourth place.

Cree Overmyer, Katie Laughlin and Delilah Thomas were recognized for receiving the Hoosier Degree, which is the state’s top honor for FFA members.
