Deming

Deming School students and parents show real dedication by participating in voluntary summer school one month before school officially begins. Students entering grades K-6 have the opportunity to come to Deming for half day summer school for three weeks each summer. This time is beneficial for all as students and teachers keep learning happening, practice strategies and procedures and explore new content. Breakfast and lunch are served during summer school.

In kindergarten, we have a special mission in summer school. We are doing our best to get our students comfortable with the building, the people and the behavior expectations.  We explore letters and numbers using materials which will become very familiar once the school year begins. We practice walking in lines, eating meals in the cafeteria and safe ways to play on playground equipment. Our hope is that our students attending summer school will identify Deming as a safe, fun and loving place to spend the school year learning.
