Rose-Hulman's Explore Engineering program lets youths design robots, mousetrap cars

TERRE HAUTE — Wabash Valley middle- and high-school students interested in exploring their interests in technology and engineering can program robots, build and race mousetrap-powered cars, and projects using electrical circuits on Feb. 5 in Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology's Explore Engineering program.

Rose-Hulman students and faculty organize programs each academic quarter. Meetings are conducted on campus from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Cost is $10 for each student per meeting.

Three different hands-on educational programs are being offered for the upcoming meeting: Learning about robotics, led by computer science and software engineering professor David Mutchler; mousetrap-powered car projects, organized by members of the student chapter of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers; and a project using electrical circuits, led by members of the student chapter of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.

Register for this upcoming program or learn more about the Explore Engineering program by contacting Dale Long at Dale.Long@rose-hulman.edu or 812-877-8418.
