West Vigo Ambassadors host CASA party

TERRE HAUTE — CASA Kids conducted its annual Easter party on March 27. Cindy Chelton and the West Vigo Ambassadors hosted the party along with Jim Shorter of Wendy’s Restaurants.

The kids enjoyed coloring pages, an egg relay, egg hunt, hot dogs, goodies bags, and, of course, they met the Easter Bunny. Walgreen’s associates captured the moment as they photographed the children posing with the Easter Bunny.

While the Easter Bunny hopped around, “Wendy” was on hand distributing free Frostys for all to enjoy. The children had a lot of fun and all the grown-ups enjoyed seeing smiles and hearing laughter fill the room.

CASA Kids is a not-for-profit that raises money to help support the advocacy work of Vigo County CASA and provide enrichment opportunities for children in the child welfare system. CASA is an acronym for Court Appointed Special Advocates. Vigo County CASA is currently accepting applications for the next initial training class. Currently there are 30 children in Vigo County waiting for a CASA to represent their best interests.

For more information about becoming a CASA or other volunteer opportunities, call (812) 232-5658 or visit www.vigocounty.org/casa.
