Agreement to further college’s international initiatives

TERRE HAUTE — Harrison College, a private sector college serving 6,000 students at 12 campuses in Indiana and Ohio as well as online, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Siva Sivani Institute of Management in Hyderabad, India.

The agreement will allow the institutions to further explore and define parameters around their partnership in student exchange programs, faculty exchange programs, and jointly developed and delivered certificates at the post-graduate level.

John Woods, director of International Operations for Harrison College, joined Aarathy Sampathy, president and CEO of SSIM, in making the announcement.

“Harrison College is extremely pleased to have signed an MOU with Siva Sivani,” Woods said. “Our two institutions have a rich history of advancing the personal and professional success of their students. We are excited to explore the specific ways that our institutions can work together as higher education becomes truly global. Initially, we are focused on student exchange, faculty exchange, and a partnership focused on giving SSIM students access to business courses.”

Harrison College has been developing international partnerships with colleges and universities, businesses, and governments for two years.

The college currently has nearly 100 international students studying in South Africa and Bangladesh.

Its goal is to have international partnerships on all five continents within five years.

SSIM is a well known business school in India. The college ranks 30th among the nation’s 4,000 business schools surveyed by Barron's in February 2011.
