BLOOMINGTON — The Indiana Journalism Hall of Fame is moving from its longtime home in Greencastle to Indiana University’s Bloomington campus.
The hall of fame was founded in 1966 by the Indiana chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists and has been housed since then at DePauw University’s Greencastle campus.
But on July 1, it will move to IU’s School of Journalism in Bloomington. Its new home will be Ernie Pyle Hall, which is named for the Pulitzer Prize-winning World War II correspondent from Dana in Vermillion County.
Hall of Fame President Ray Moscowitz says the hall’s members are excited by the move to one of the nation’s most prestigious journalism schools. He says IU’s journalism heritage is an “ideal place for the hall to relocate.”
